About the role#
As a Systems Engineering Intern in Chantilly, you will support subsystem and system development, testing, and verification. You will work within the Design Engineering department to help develop and execute the technical baseline across various programs.
What you'll do#
- Apply engineering and industry concepts to solve real technical challenges.
- Work closely with your mentor and other employees in the department to build your technical and professional skills.
- Attend frequent 1:1 meetings with mentors and supervisors to track progress and discuss your learning.
- Participate in tech talks and connect with other interns and employees through professional and social events.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a bachelor's, master's, or doctorate program in engineering, physics, or mathematics.
- At least one semester of school remaining after the internship concludes.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0.
- At least 3 months of applied engineering experience, which can include internships, laboratory work, or team projects.
- The following qualifications are preferred: a GPA of 3.5 or higher, 6 months of applied engineering experience, and familiarity with optics, Solidworks, Cameo, JAMA, or Microsoft Excel.
Location & details#
- Location: Chantilly, Virginia.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Modality: Full-time, on-site for at least 12 consecutive weeks starting in May or June 2027.
- Compensation: $25.00 per hour.
- Benefits: You may be eligible for a relocation stipend.
