About the role#
As a Systems Engineering Intern, you will join our team in Tucson, Arizona, for the Summer 2027 term. You will support subsystem and system development testing and verification. This role involves helping our team develop and execute to the technical baseline across various programs.
What you'll do#
- Work alongside your mentor and department colleagues to apply your knowledge and grow your technical skills.
- Apply engineering and industry concepts to solve real challenges.
- Attend frequent one-on-one meetings with supervisors and mentors to provide progress updates and discuss your learning.
- Participate in tech talks and connect with other interns and employees through professional and social events.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a bachelor's, master's, or doctorate program in engineering, physics, or mathematics.
- At least one semester of school remaining after the internship.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0.
- At least 3 months of applied engineering experience, such as internships, laboratory work, or team projects.
- The ability to work full-time and on-site for at least 12 consecutive weeks starting in May or June 2027.
Preferred qualifications include:
- A GPA of 3.5 or above.
- 6 months or more of applied engineering experience.
- Familiarity with optics.
- Experience with Solidworks, Cameo, or JAMA.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.

- Compensation: $25.00 per hour.
