R&D Engineering Intern Fall 2026

About the role#

As an R&D Engineering Intern in Albuquerque, you will support the Cell Product team in evolving technologies into production-ready product lines. You will work alongside mentors and department staff to apply engineering concepts to real-world challenges while developing your technical and professional skills.

What you'll do#

• Collaborate with the Cell Product team to advance new technologies.
• Participate in regular 1:1 meetings with mentors and supervisors to track progress and facilitate learning.
• Engage with the broader intern and employee community through tech talks and professional events.
• Apply engineering principles to solve complex technical problems.

What you'll need#

• Enrollment in a bachelor’s, master's, or doctorate program in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Computer Engineering.
• At least one semester of school remaining following the internship.
• A minimum GPA of 3.0.
• At least 3 months of applied engineering experience, including internships, laboratory work, or personal/team projects.
• Preferred: A GPA of 3.5 or above and 6+ months of applied engineering experience.

Location & details#

• Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico.
• Term: Fall 2026.
• Modality: Full-time, on-site for a minimum of 12 consecutive weeks beginning in August or September 2026.
• Compensation: This is a paid internship; relocation stipend may be available.
