Electrical Engineering Intern Fall 2026

About the role#

As an Electrical Engineering Intern in Long Beach, California, you will join a team responsible for designing, building, and testing electrical components for satellites. You will contribute to missions ranging from low Earth orbit to interplanetary travel. This is a paid, full-time internship for Fall 2026.

What you'll do#

• Work alongside mentors and department staff to apply engineering knowledge and develop technical and professional skills.
• Collaborate with a team of professionals to apply industry concepts to solve real-world engineering challenges.
• Attend regular 1:1 meetings with mentors and supervisors to receive feedback, provide progress updates, and facilitate learning.
• Participate in tech talks and connect with other interns and employees through professional and social events.

What you'll need#

• Enrollment in a bachelor’s, master's, or doctorate program in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or computer science.
• At least one semester of school remaining following the internship.
• A GPA of 3.0 or above.
• A minimum of 3 months of applied engineering experience, such as internships, laboratory work, or personal/team projects.
• Preferred qualifications include a GPA of 3.5 or above and 6+ months of applied engineering experience.
• Additional desired skills include experience with schematic capture tools (such as Altium), soldering, PCB/PCBA layout design, and familiarity with electronics test equipment.

• Location: Long Beach, California.
• Term: Fall 2026.
• Modality: On-site, full-time for a minimum of 12 consecutive weeks starting in August or September 2026.
• Compensation: $28.00 per hour.
