As a Propulsion Intern, you will join a multidisciplinary team responsible for designing and building satellite systems, as well as managing engine development, testing, performance, and operations. You will work alongside mentors and colleagues to apply your academic knowledge to real-world engineering challenges.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with a team of professionals to apply engineering concepts to solve complex technical challenges.
- Participate in regular 1:1 meetings with mentors and supervisors to track progress and support your professional growth.
- Engage with the broader team through tech talks, networking, and social events.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a bachelor’s, master's, or doctorate program in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
- At least one semester of school remaining following the internship.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0.
- At least 3 months of applied engineering experience, such as internships, laboratory work, or team projects.
- Preferred: A GPA of 3.5 or above and 6+ months of applied engineering experience.
- Preferred technical skills include experience with liquid rocket engines, heat transfer, fluid dynamics, high-pressure systems, integration, GSE, Python, Siemens NX, and ANSYS Workbench.
Location & details#
- Location: Long Beach, California.
- Term: Fall 2026.
- Commitment: Full-time, on-site for a minimum of 12 consecutive weeks starting in August or September 2026.
- Compensation: $28.00 per hour.
