About the role#
As a Manufacturing Engineering Intern in Long Beach, you will join the team responsible for building rocket engines. You will work alongside design, production, and quality teams to develop and qualify manufacturing processes. This role is a full-time, on-site position for the Summer 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with your mentor and department staff to apply engineering concepts to real challenges.
- Attend regular 1:1 meetings with supervisors to discuss progress and professional development.
- Participate in tech talks and connect with other interns and employees through various events.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program for Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics.
- At least one semester of school remaining after the internship concludes.
- A GPA of 3.0 or above.
- A minimum of 3 months of applied engineering experience, which can include internships, laboratory work, or personal and team projects.
- Preferred qualifications include a GPA of 3.5 or above and 6+ months of applied engineering experience.
- Experience in the following areas is also preferred: Solid Modelling, CAD/CAM, Finite Elements Analysis (FEA), CNC machinery, GD&T, 3D printing, and software tools such as Siemens NX, Jira, Solidworks, or ANSYS.
Location & details#
- This internship is based in Long Beach, California.
- The role is on-site and requires full-time availability for at least 12 consecutive weeks starting in May or June 2027.
