About the role#
This student role focuses on the setup, monitoring, and maintenance of routine respiratory care equipment. You will support the respiratory care team by ensuring equipment is functional, clean, and available across the hospital for patients of all ages.
What you'll do#
- Process respiratory equipment daily by disassembling, cleaning, assembling, and testing units.
- Perform minor routine repairs and preventative maintenance.
- Document all procedures and maintenance activities.
- Manage medical gas cylinder inventory in storage and patient care areas.
- Track equipment due for calibration and coordinate with the Bio Medical Engineering department.
- Assist with battery replacements for powered equipment.
- Maintain par stock levels for respiratory supplies on patient care units.
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and free of hazards.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited Respiratory Care program.
- Ability to perform technical procedures and interpret instrumentation with high accuracy.
- Capability to handle moderate physical demands, including lifting 20 to 50 lbs and moving medical equipment.
