About the role#
Richardson International is hiring a Supply Chain Intern for our U.S. Country Office in St. Louis, Missouri. This summer 2027 position offers hands-on experience in transportation, logistics, and supply chain operations. You will support our transportation group and gain exposure to finance, marketing, and international business as you progress through the term.
What you'll do#
- Coordinate daily logistics, transportation, and warehousing for grains, oilseeds, and finished goods.
- Manage rail activities for Durum Milling, including transloading, customer shipments, and bill of lading preparation.
- Learn best practices for rail demurrage.
- Secure rates and conduct rate analysis with dry van and bulk pneumatic truck carriers.
- Troubleshoot shipment delays by working with sales, operations, and transportation carriers.
- Negotiate and resolve disputes with 3PL warehousing and transportation partners.
- Use Rail and Truck Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Enter and update grain sales contracts, prepare settlements, process invoices, and handle accounts payable vouchers.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program with a focus on Logistics and Supply Chain. All majors are welcome to apply.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple responsibilities.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite.
