About the role#
We are looking for a Chemistry Analyst Intern to support the testing and analysis of nutraceutical, personal care, and beauty products. You will work alongside senior analysts and our quality control team to ensure product safety, potency, and compliance. This role provides hands-on experience in a regulated lab environment for students in Chemistry, Biology, Biomedical Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or Environmental Engineering.
What you'll do#
- Perform routine analytical testing of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products under supervision.
- Operate and maintain laboratory instruments including HPLC, GC, FTIR, UV-Vis spectrophotometers, pH meters, and moisture analyzers.
- Prepare standard and sample solutions according to written procedures.
- Document results accurately following Good Documentation Practices.
- Support stability testing and shelf-life studies by preparing samples and recording data.
- Assist with laboratory housekeeping, including inventory management, reagent labeling, and equipment calibration.
- Complete and present a capstone project focused on improving quality control processes, such as optimizing methods or streamlining workflows.
What you'll need#
- Prior experience in a laboratory environment, whether from coursework or previous internships.
- Ability to follow detailed laboratory procedures and operate standard equipment like pipettes, centrifuges, and balances.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data entry and analysis.
- Excellent accuracy and precision in all lab work, from sample preparation to data recording.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to report findings and work with the research team.
- A proactive approach to troubleshooting and addressing challenges.
- Commitment to laboratory safety protocols, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment and adherence to standard operating procedures.
