About the role#
The Drafting Technologist Co-op supports the production of fabrication-ready shop drawings for miscellaneous metals and structural steel projects. You will work under the guidance of senior drafting and engineering staff to translate architectural and structural designs into detailed drawings. This position is based in Brampton, Ontario, and runs for a 4-month term.
What you'll do#
- Prepare shop and fabrication drawings for structural steel and miscellaneous metal components using AutoCAD.
- Manage drawing markups, redlines, and revisions through the design and approval process using Bluebeam.
- Coordinate with estimating, project management, and fabrication shop personnel to support production.
- Prepare as-built and conformed-to-construction drawings after installation.
- Perform quality checks on drawings to confirm dimensional accuracy and code compliance.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or recent graduation from a Drafting, CAD Design, or Architectural/Structural Technology program.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings and specifications.
- Strong aptitude for learning structural steel and miscellaneous metals fabrication methods.

- Compensation: $20 to $22 per hour.
