About the role#
The Development Planning Engineering Intern will join our team for the summer of 2027. You will work with the Development Planning Team to evaluate future opportunities and analyze long-term business scenarios. This role offers exposure to the reservoir, production, and commercial workflows that drive capital allocation and asset strategy. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to see how technical and financial information supports business decisions. At the end of the program, you will present your summer project to company leadership and technical staff.
What you'll do#
- Support the team in maintaining and updating long-term development planning scenarios.
- Assist with production forecasting, capital planning, and economic evaluations.
- Collect, validate, and organize technical assumptions for planning workflows.
- Analyze production, drilling, completion, and economic data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Develop presentations and materials for budget planning, reserves reviews, and strategic business discussions.
- Work alongside Reservoir, Production, Operations, and Commercial teams to understand how technical decisions impact business outcomes.
What you'll need#
- Successful completion of at least 2 years toward a Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering.
- A cumulative and major GPA of 3.3 or higher.
- Expected graduation between 2028 and 2029, or current enrollment as a graduate student.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Full authorization to work for any employer in the US without sponsorship. Please note that we are not authorized for employment under OPT, CPT, or F1 visa programs.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship based on-site in The Woodlands, Texas.
- The program runs for 12 weeks, from May 17 to August 6, 2027.
- Interns are expected to work Monday through Friday.
