About the role#
As a Data and Control Systems Engineer Intern, you will work with the Test team to design, build, and operate the infrastructure used to test components for the Terran R rocket. You will gain hands-on experience with control hardware and data acquisition systems while working across different sites. This role involves solving technical challenges and collaborating with engineers and technicians to support test campaigns.
What you'll do#
- Design, integrate, and test acquisition hardware, instrumentation, and cameras for rocket test stands.
- Build DAQ cabinets and configure instrumentation.
- Develop actuator control systems.
- Design and maintain electrical systems for use in hazardous areas.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute projects.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated knowledge of electrical engineering fundamentals.
- Proven ability to complete complex projects by coordinating with others and meeting deadlines.
- Curiosity and a desire to gain hands-on experience with test stand hardware.
- No previous aerospace experience is required.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship.
- Work is on-site at Stennis Space Center, MS, Cape Canaveral, FL, or Long Beach, CA.
- Internships are offered on a rolling basis.
- Interns at Stennis Space Center and Cape Canaveral must provide their own transportation.
