About the role#
The Avionics team manages the lifecycle of electronics, harnesses, enclosures, and instrumentation for our rockets. You will design hardware that controls the vehicle during flight, handles telemetry, and manages payload deployment. You will join one of three internal teams: Electrical Development, Systems Integration and Test, or Mechatronics Development.
What you'll do#
- Design hardware solutions that survive launch and space environments.
- Support vehicle systems including sensors, propulsion, computing, actuation, energy management, and communications.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a BS or MS program in aerospace, mechanical, electrical, computer, or manufacturing engineering, or computer science.
- Familiarity with electronics or PCBA design, electrical harness design, or CAD modeling software.
- Experience with the bring-up and integration of large-scale electrical systems.
- Ability to develop electrical and mechanical test fixtures and tools.
- Knowledge of design for manufacturing and manufacturing process development.
- Experience building electrical and mechanical systems is a plus.
- Comfort with lab equipment like oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, signal generators, and soldering irons is helpful.
- Participation in collegiate engineering competitions or previous internship experience is beneficial.

- This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship based in Long Beach, California.
- The position follows a rolling schedule.
