About the role#
The Sound Lab Engineering Co-op provides technical support for sound and vibration analysis. You will work alongside the Senior Analytical Engineer of Sound and Vibration to evaluate product performance, investigate customer returns, and assist with new product development. This role offers hands-on experience with acoustic testing equipment, data analysis, and product validation within a collaborative environment.
What you'll do#
- Support acoustic and vibration testing for product performance investigations and customer complaints.
- Operate testing equipment within the anechoic chamber and other sound measurement environments.
- Assist with sound and vibration analysis for cost reduction projects.
- Conduct testing and data collection for new product development initiatives.
- Analyze test data to prepare technical reports, summaries, and recommendations.
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, manufacturing, and product development teams.
- Maintain accurate engineering documentation for testing and project activities.
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts for product reliability and customer satisfaction.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to interpret technical data and manage multiple projects to meet deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Mechanical Engineering students should have completed coursework in Statics, Dynamics, Mechanics of Materials, and Advanced Engineering Mathematics.
- Electrical Engineering students should have completed coursework in Electrical Circuits, Digital Circuits, and Electrical Power and Controls.
- No prior experience is required.
