About the role#
This is a full-time internship for Summer 2027 based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. You will work on-site as part of the flight controls engineering team. This role requires you to be a U.S. Person.
What you'll do#
- Develop control algorithms and signal processing for flight control systems, including flight guidance, autothrottle, and attitude control.
- Define and review functional and interface requirements for flight control systems.
- Create models and simulation tools for closed loop systems to assess performance.
- Verify and validate control algorithms and system requirements.
- Support product certification by performing system development compliant with ARP4754A/B and software development compliant with DO-178B/C standards.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor's or advanced degree program in electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related STEM discipline.
- Active student status through the end of the internship session.
- Practical experience with Matlab/Simulink is preferred.
- Knowledge of control systems theory is preferred.
- General familiarity with aviation or flight control systems is preferred.
