About the role#
This is a full-time Electrical Engineering internship for Summer 2027 based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. You will work with an experienced team to learn engineering processes for implementing ASIC and FPGA solutions. This role involves exposure to technologies used in communications, security, and space-based products. Please note that U.S. citizenship is required to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
What you'll do#
- Support requirements capture and digital architecture for ASIC and FPGA projects.
- Implement digital designs using RTL.
- Assist with verification and system integration of your implementations.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree program for Electrical or Computer Engineering, with at least 60 credit hours completed by the start of the internship.
- Experience with RTL coding and simulation in VHDL, Verilog, or SystemVerilog.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and collaborate across diverse engineering teams.
- Capacity to manage project milestones within aggressive schedules.
- Preferred: Experience with design tools such as Modelsim, Quartus, or Vivado.
- Preferred: Familiarity with hardware debugging, digital lab equipment, and root cause investigations.
- Preferred: Background in signal processing, information assurance, or digital circuit architecture.
- Preferred: Familiarity with Matlab, Simulink, and revision control tools like Git or Subversion.
