About the role#
This Electrical Engineering Co-op position is based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. You will join the Avionics Network Hardware team within the Computing Products Department. This is a full-time, on-site role spanning the Winter and Summer 2027 terms. You will work Monday through Friday, with the expectation that you take a semester off from coursework to focus on this mentorship opportunity.
What you'll do#
- Develop digital hardware circuit boards for new products.
- Design, analyze, simulate, and test Circuit Card Assemblies for Avionics Computers, including processors, FPGAs, memory, and high-speed interfaces.
- Perform schematic capture of digital and analog mixed-signal electrical circuit designs.
- Operate lab equipment to conduct integration testing on hardware designs.
- Support existing products through recertification, obsolescence management, and cost savings identification.
- Troubleshoot equipment from the field or the OEM assembly line.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree program in Electrical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.
- Completion of at least 30 credit hours by the start of the session.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship.
- Preferred: Experience with electronic circuit design or multi-assembly system design.
- Preferred: Experience taking design concepts from block diagrams or requirements to complete hardware designs, including verification.
- Preferred: Familiarity with PCB design processes, schematic capture tools, and signal or power integrity simulation.
- Preferred: Experience working on cross-functional teams.
