About the role#
This Electrical Engineering Co-op position is based in Midland, Ontario. You will work on-site at our manufacturing facility, gaining experience across design, supply chain, and production teams. This role involves working with Electro-optic systems, including infrared and visible light modules. You will report to the Manager of Electrical Engineering and collaborate with our integrated product development teams.
What you'll do#
- Design, evaluate, and verify Electro-optic systems.
- Perform schematic capture and PCB layout using tools like Altium and Inventor.
- Write and debug code using Embedded C and Verilog.
- Conduct conceptual design and computer simulations to predict performance.
- Build, repair, and debug prototype circuits using soldering and electrical test equipment.
- Research design concepts to ensure they are manufacturable.
- Assist in the review and approval of test procedures to ensure hardware meets requirements.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Electrical Engineering post-secondary program.
- Working knowledge of CAD software.
- Proficiency in Embedded C and Verilog programming.
- Experience with basic lab equipment and soldering skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to organize tasks, take initiative, and work as a self-starter.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada who has resided in Canada for at least five consecutive years to meet security clearance requirements.
