This internship focuses on advancing neutral-atom quantum computing technologies. You will work alongside a multidisciplinary team of physicists, engineers, and computer scientists to design, implement, and characterize neutral-atom quantum computing systems.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the design and construction of neutral atom quantum computers under the guidance of your mentor.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to verify and validate modules and subsystems.
- Investigate sources of noise and decoherence to help develop mitigation strategies.
- Support experimental setups, including work with optical components, lasers, and atom trapping systems.
- Use the Python scientific stack to analyze experimental data and provide insights for continuous improvement.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
- A strong physics background with experience in optics.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Proficiency in Python, including the scientific stack (PyTorch, NumPy, SciPy, Pandas), is considered a plus.
