About the role#
QuEra Computing Inc. is hiring a Quantum Error Correction (QEC) Research Intern to join our team in the QEC and Architecture department. You will work with experts in theoretical and experimental quantum information to design, simulate, and analyze error correction strategies for our neutral-atom quantum computing platform. This role focuses on the intersection of theory and hardware to support the development of large-scale fault-tolerant quantum computation.
What you'll do#
- Design and simulate error correction strategies for neutral-atom hardware.
- Develop novel logical gate schemes with low overhead.
- Create improved decoding methods.
- Implement QEC protocols on our quantum hardware.
- Collaborate with scientists and engineers on research projects.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or completion of a Ph.D. program in Physics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- A solid background in quantum computing and quantum error correction.
- Strong programming skills.
- Experience with numerical simulation tools such as Stim or custom decoders.
- Familiarity with experimental or hardware-informed QEC implementations.
- Strong communication skills and an interest in cross-disciplinary collaboration.

- Status: Full-time, paid internship.
- Term: Rolling basis, with flexible start dates available outside of the summer.
