About the role#
The Queens District Attorney's Office offers a 9-week summer internship for second-year law students. You will work alongside Assistant District Attorneys within bureaus such as Investigations, Appeals, or Trial Divisions. This program focuses on practical experience in prosecutorial work and public service.
What you'll do#
- Research and write for pending cases.
- Handle motion and discovery practice.
- Assist with search warrant applications.
- Observe proffers and conduct civilian or police interviews.
- Appear in court under a student practice order.
- Visit crime scenes.
- Participate in community outreach programs.
- Attend legal training sessions.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a second-year law student (2L).
- A demonstrated interest in public service.
- A demonstrated interest in criminal law.
Location & details#
- Location: Kew Gardens, New York.
- Term: Summer 2027 (June 7 to August 6).
- Modality: Full-time, on-site, Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
- Compensation: A stipend of $900 per week is available. Partial outside funding is supplemented by the office.
- Housing: Limited housing is available for non-NYC domiciled students on a case-by-case basis.
