About the role#
Qorvo is looking for an SOI Design Intern to join our team in Greensboro, North Carolina. This is a full-time, paid internship that offers hands-on experience in semiconductor design. You will work within our High Performance Analog, Advanced Cellular, or Connectivity and Sensors business groups to support ongoing projects.
What you'll do#
- Design functional blocks, including LNA and RF switches, using SOI and CMOS technologies.
- Create and simulate EM models in HFSS to support silicon design integration and validation.
- Balance performance requirements with constraints like size, cost, footprint, and project schedules.
- Develop design schematics, run simulations, and analyze real lab data.
- Use signal generators, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and power meters to compare lab results against simulated data.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an MS or PhD program in Electrical Engineering with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Coursework or experience in analog and RF circuit design.
- Familiarity with software tools such as Cadence, ADS, AWR, or HFSS.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to explain technical information.
- A detail-oriented approach to ensure high-yielding product designs.
- Good organizational skills for systematic planning and scheduling.
- Exposure to RF measurement equipment like spectrum and network analyzers is preferred.
