About the role#
Qorvo is hiring a Design Engineering Intern to join our Connect & Sensor business group in Greensboro, North Carolina. This is a full-time, paid internship that provides hands-on experience with semiconductor design projects. You will work on real-world assignments and contribute to the development of RF and analog circuits.
What you'll do#
- Design and test RF circuits such as PA, LNA, SW, and matching networks.
- Implement designs that meet specific customer requirements for size, cost, power dissipation, and schedule.
- Partner with technicians to run circuit simulations and perform testing.
- Use lab equipment including signal generators, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and power meters.
- Compare simulated data against real lab results.
- Perform transistor level circuit design, simulation, and layout.
- Handle analog/RF measurement and digital capture.
- Script automated and regression simulation environments using tools like SKILL, python, TCL, or bash.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
- A minimum GPA of 3.5.
- Course work or experience in RF/microwave, analog, and digital integrated-circuit design.
- Familiarity with RF measurement equipment like spectrum analyzers and network analyzers.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with software tools such as ADS, FEM, HFSS, Momentum, Synopsis, Mentor Calibre, Cadence Virtuoso, EMX, Xcelium, Dynamic Link, 3D CAD, or Mechanical FEA.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented approach to ensure high-yielding product delivery.
- Effective organizational skills for planning and scheduling tasks.
