About the role#
As an intern in the Japanese Business Network, you will work within our Tax practice to support entrepreneurial and private businesses. You will gain exposure to global tax strategies, compliance, and client service while working alongside experienced tax professionals. This role focuses on learning and contributing to team projects while building your understanding of professional tax consulting.
What you'll do#
- Support tax teams in preparing and reviewing corporate tax returns and compliance documents.
- Assist in analyzing tax data to find potential savings and compliance opportunities.
- Participate in international tax planning and multistate tax compliance projects.
- Perform tax research to provide accurate information on laws and regulations.
- Collaborate with team members to draft and prepare tax documents for clients.
- Contribute to tax strategies that align with client goals and regulatory requirements.
- Apply data analytics skills to improve the accuracy and efficiency of reporting.
- Support the Japanese Business Network in delivering services to private businesses.
- Observe experienced professionals to gain insights into tax consulting practices.
- Demonstrate a proactive approach to learning about tax structures and policies.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing or completed a Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- At least a 3.0 overall GPA.
- Business level fluency in both Japanese and English.
- Ability to meet educational requirements to sit for the CPA exam in your intended state of employment before starting full-time.
- Typically, you are in your third year of a four-year degree program or fourth year of a five-year program.

- This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2028.
- Work is on-site.
- Locations include Rosemont, IL, Los Angeles, CA, Chicago, IL, Cincinnati, OH, Detroit, MI, New York, NY, and San Francisco, CA.
