Engineering Intern

About the role#

ProAmpac is seeking an Engineering Intern to support the manufacturing facility in Forest City, North Carolina. This full-time, on-site position offers students and recent graduates the opportunity to gain practical experience by working alongside senior engineers on analysis, design support, testing, and troubleshooting. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to contribute to meaningful engineering projects.

What you'll do#

• Assist with product trials conducted on the production floor.
• Lead projects focused on improving operational efficiency.
• Utilize statistical measures to demonstrate process improvements.
• Elevate complex or high-priority problems to senior staff for resolution.
• Provide project status updates and metrics using various media.
• Read, understand, and follow work instructions and documented policies.
• Work independently and collaborate with teammates to identify process improvements and gather information.
• Manage multiple projects and assignments simultaneously.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing a degree at an accredited college or university in Packaging Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Understanding of standard engineering principles, including protocols, processes, evaluations, and statistical analysis.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) and Outlook.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work scheduled hours and overtime as needed.
