Research Scientist Intern (PhD)

About the role#

Prior Labs is seeking a Research Scientist Intern to join our team in developing a new class of AI models focused on structured data. You will work on foundational research and infrastructure, tackling open problems in tabular machine learning to enable real-world applications across industries.

What you'll do#

• Collaborate on the development of a new class of AI models.
• Scale transformer architectures from 10K to 1M+ samples while maintaining performance.
• Build multimodal models that integrate text and tabular understanding.
• Develop specialized architectures for time series, forecasting, and anomaly detection.
• Create efficient inference methods for production deployment.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing or holding a PhD in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Deep experience with ML frameworks, specifically PyTorch and scikit-learn.
• Strong engineering fundamentals with excellent Python expertise.
• Experience in data science, particularly with tabular data or time series.
• A record of publications at top-tier venues such as NeurIPS, ICML, or ICLR, or significant open-source contributions.
