About the role#
This internship provides insight into the banking industry through hands-on experience and formal training. You will work alongside credit analyst and lending teams to understand how different bank departments provide comprehensive service to customers. This role includes exposure to Treasury Management, Private Banking, and Merchant Services.
What you'll do#
- Observe the daily work of Loan Officers and Credit Analysts.
- Practice spreading financial statements and underwriting loans.
- Perform analysis and ask questions to help improve loan underwriting.
- Attend loan committee meetings to see the approval process.
- Review loan set-up worksheets to ensure packages are complete for booking and funding.
- Learn how to generate new business through prospecting and networking.
- Research industries to understand the target customer profile.
- Network with leaders in the lending division.
- Meet with product partners to learn about client services.
- Interact with employees, vendors, and clients.
- Participate in training through the Banker Development Program.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a four-year, accredited college or university.
- Good academic standing.
- Strong preference for a Finance or Accounting major, or supplemental coursework in these areas.
- Eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.
- Skills in Microsoft Office, including word processing and spreadsheets.
- Verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Customer service and teamwork abilities.
