About the role#
This is a full-time, paid Mechanical Engineering internship based in McKinney, Texas, for the Summer 2027 term. You will join the Airborne Sensor RF Design Mechanical Engineering team to support the design, development, and testing of hardware. This position requires U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
What you'll do#
- Participate in the mechanical design process from concept generation through to drawing completion.
- Support product builds, testing, and hardware troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with product engineers from multiple disciplines to meet program and factory requirements.
- Learn and apply formal processes for design modifications.
- Analyze and evaluate products to determine efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelors or Advanced degree program in a STEM field, specifically Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling and experience utilizing CREO.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.
- Ability to work effectively within a diverse team environment.
- Experience gained through coursework, research, or previous technical projects.
