About the role#
This is a full-time, paid Mechanical Engineering internship based in Tucson, Arizona, for the Summer 2027 term. You will work within the Advanced Airframes Department to support the design, development, and testing of complex mechanical systems. This role requires working on-site to facilitate collaboration and hardware development.
What you'll do#
- Design structures, assemblies, and mechanical components.
- Perform detailed design and drafting work in accordance with ASME Y14.5 standards.
- Manage relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Coordinate across functional teams to advance designs through the development lifecycle.
- Support the procurement of development hardware and assist with testing activities.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree program in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, with at least 50 credit hours completed by the start of the internship.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, Fusion 360, or equivalent.
- Practical experience with mechanical hardware documentation or drawing standards.
- An active, transferable U.S. government-issued SECRET security clearance, which must be held prior to the start date.
- U.S. citizenship is required to maintain the necessary security clearance.
