About the role#
As a Family Office Estate Planning Intern, you will gain hands-on experience working with high-net-worth individuals and families. You will be treated like entry-level staff, taking on meaningful tasks that contribute to client wealth and profitability. This role requires a commitment to professional growth and collaboration across all levels of the firm.
What you'll do#
- Learn estate planning techniques to assist clients with tax reduction strategies.
- Build personal balance sheets and cash flow projections.
- Research technical issues regarding estate, gift, and trust income taxation.
- Prepare gift tax returns (709), estate tax returns (706), and trust income tax returns (1041).
- Create practice tools, materials, and presentations on estate tax topics.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program with a focus on accounting, finance, or a related business curriculum.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- A strong interest in wealth transfer planning strategies.
- Detail-oriented leadership with effective communication and problem-solving skills.

- Locations: Grand Rapids, Michigan and East Lansing, Michigan.
- Modality: Hybrid.
- Employment: Full-time and paid.
