As a National Tax Office & Transactional Specialist Intern, you will work alongside our professional staff to provide financial confidence to our clients. This role is designed to provide hands-on experience in tax consulting and transactional work, allowing you to contribute to meaningful projects rather than administrative tasks. This is a full-time, paid position with a rolling application process.
What you'll do#
- Analyze tax issues related to mergers and acquisitions.
- Research complex tax topics and draft technical memoranda.
- Assist with international tax structuring and operational matters.
- Prepare tax returns and participate as an active member of engagement teams.
- Support National Tax Office functions, including the creation of internal and external tax alerts on current developments and planning techniques.
- Contribute to internal tax education initiatives.
- Gain exposure to various service lines to deepen your tax and consulting knowledge.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in accounting, or a Master's degree in accounting or tax.
- Active pursuit of an LLM, JD, or CPA license.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and analytical skills.
- A demonstrated interest in tax law through completed or planned coursework.
- Ability to work more than 40 hours per week when required.
Location & details#
- Work Modality: This is an on-site position. While we value face-to-face collaboration, we utilize a flexible model that encourages team coordination to determine the optimal working environment.
- Travel: The role may require local, national, and occasional international travel.
- Locations: Ann Arbor, Auburn Hills, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, Denver Tech Center, Detroit, East Lansing, Flint, Fort Collins, Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, Macomb, Schaumburg, Southfield, Toledo, Traverse City, and Chicago.
- Authorization: Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
