About the role#
The Pittsburgh Pirates are seeking a Media Relations intern for the 2026 season. This internship offers the opportunity to support the Public Relations department with day-to-day operations and game-day activities.
What you'll do#
- Manage the press box before and after each game.
- Distribute game day materials to the organization, media, and broadcasters.
- Research statistics and communicate findings to broadcasters, television graphics personnel, and the content team during games.
- Compile team and player notes for weekly minor league updates distributed to internal and external media.
- Write game recaps for historical archives.
- Proofread game notes and assist with end-of-season minor league reviews.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a Junior, Senior, or Graduate student at an accredited institution.
- Pursuing a degree in Journalism, Sports Management, Communications, Media Studies, Marketing, Business Administration, or English.
- Authorization to work lawfully in the United States.
- Previous media relations experience is preferred.
