Intern - Information Technology (2026 Summer)

About the role#

The Pittsburgh Pirates are seeking an Information Technology Intern for the Summer 2026 term. This role serves as a primary point of contact for IT support, assisting with the triage of incoming requests and supporting the IT Services team in maintaining operational efficiency. This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

What you'll do#

• Manage the IT Service Desk by answering phone inquiries and monitoring the workorder portal.
• Log, track, and assign incoming workorders according to established guidelines, ensuring tickets are updated and technicians are consulted as needed.
• Create and maintain user documentation for enterprise and custom software applications.
• Monitor office printing equipment, coordinating with vendors to ensure supply levels and uptime.
• Collaborate with the IT Analyst to document user requirements during systems analysis and design.
• Assist with the diagnosis and correction of Level 1 technical issues.
• Provide IT support coverage during game days and special events.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field at a Junior, Senior, or Graduate level.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including advanced features in Word and Excel.
• Understanding of Windows and Mac platforms and foundational knowledge of network infrastructure.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to clarify technical issues reported by users.
• A commitment to providing excellent customer service.
