About the role#
The Pittsburgh Pirates are seeking an Information Technology Intern for the Summer 2026 term. This role serves as a primary point of contact for IT support, assisting with the triage of incoming requests and supporting the IT Services team in maintaining operational efficiency. This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
What you'll do#
- Manage the IT Service Desk by answering phone inquiries and monitoring the workorder portal.
- Log, track, and assign incoming workorders according to established guidelines, ensuring tickets are updated and technicians are consulted as needed.
- Create and maintain user documentation for enterprise and custom software applications.
- Monitor office printing equipment, coordinating with vendors to ensure supply levels and uptime.
- Collaborate with the IT Analyst to document user requirements during systems analysis and design.
- Assist with the diagnosis and correction of Level 1 technical issues.
- Provide IT support coverage during game days and special events.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field at a Junior, Senior, or Graduate level.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including advanced features in Word and Excel.
- Understanding of Windows and Mac platforms and foundational knowledge of network infrastructure.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to clarify technical issues reported by users.
