Intern - Graphic Design (2026 Spring)

About the role#

The Pittsburgh Pirates are seeking a Graphic Design Intern for the Spring 2026 term. This seasonal position runs from January 19 to April 24, working alongside the Creative Director, Senior Designer, and design team. You will be expected to think critically, solve problems in a timely manner, and remain open to constructive feedback throughout the internship.

What you'll do#

• Communicate and present ideas visually to internal and external stakeholders.
• Produce designs that align with the Pirates brand, voice, and audience.
• Collaborate with creative team members and other departments to create cohesive content for various platforms and mediums.
• Attend team and project meetings, as well as career-building exercises.
• Manage tasks and upload proofs and deliverables through the Lytho project management system.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a degree-seeking program as a Junior, Senior, or Graduate student in Graphic Design, Art, Media Studies, Industrial Design, or Architecture.
• Working knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
• Understanding of the graphic production process and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to organize, maintain, and label design production files.
• Authorization to work lawfully in the United States.
• Desired skills include knowledge of Adobe After Effects, Canva, and an understanding of digital and print design.

Location & details#

• This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
• You must be available to work on-site for the entire duration of the program.
• Ability to work some gamedays throughout the season is preferred.
