Intern - Enterprise Systems (2026 Summer)

About the role#

This internship provides hands-on experience supporting the enterprise systems portfolio at the Pittsburgh Pirates. Working under the Manager of Enterprise Systems, you will assist with access management, system maintenance, and troubleshooting while learning industry best practices in security, compliance, and service delivery. This position includes game day coverage as part of the IT team rotation.

What you'll do#

• Provision and maintain user access to SaaS products and custom applications while applying least privilege practices.
• Provide Tier 1 support for enterprise system issues, document troubleshooting steps, and escalate matters as needed.
• Assist with the monitoring, patching, and maintenance of Windows Server instances and enterprise applications.
• Support Microsoft 365 technologies, including Teams and SharePoint, and assist with the upkeep of related workflows.
• Help maintain system documentation, user procedures, and materials required for compliance and audit readiness.
• Collaborate with users to identify pain points, test system functionality, and communicate recommendations.
• Assist with Microsoft Power Platform solutions, Azure DevOps, and internal application support.

What you'll need#

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree-seeking program in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field at a Junior, Senior, or Graduate level.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.
• Foundational understanding of systems administration, including user access, security roles, least privilege, Windows Server, SaaS, and client-server environments.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Microsoft 365 tools, particularly Excel, Teams, and SharePoint.
• Strong communication and customer service skills, combined with high attention to detail.
• Willingness to learn technologies including Microsoft Power Platform, Azure DevOps, and cloud platforms.
