Intern - Ballpark Operations (2026 Season)

About the role#

The PNC Park Operations Intern will gain experience in back-of-the-house ballpark operations by working alongside the Director of PNC Park Operations, Director of PNC Park Security, Manager of Guest Experience, Manager of PNC Park Facilities, Manager of Security Operations, and the Coordinator of Ballpark Maintenance. This role involves participating in both game and non-game day procedures to understand the staffing and execution required to operate a professional sports facility.

What you'll do#

• Coordinate with Human Resources to prepare for game and event day employee interviews and new hire call-backs.
• Conduct inventories for staff uniforms, radios, signage, storage areas, and equipment, including labeling and distribution assistance.
• Assist in preparing monthly staff schedules and entering staffing requests into scheduling software.
• Perform ballpark walk-throughs and complete checklists regarding maintenance and cleaning issues.
• Maintain a daily log and photo library of ongoing ballpark repair projects.
• Assist in organizing capital projects by managing spreadsheets and project documentation.
• Support managers with daily staff briefings and attend relevant operational meetings.
• Manage equipment and delivery inventories and assist with promotional item counting and distribution tracking.

What you'll need#

• Enrollment in an accredited institution at the Junior, Senior, or Graduate level.
• Authorization to work lawfully in the United States.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft applications and the ability to adapt to new software.
• Majors in Event/Facilities Management, Sports Management, or a related field are preferred.
• A valid driver’s license is preferred.
• Previous customer service experience is helpful.
