About the role#
The Tournament Operations Intern assists the Tournament Office with the planning and execution of various championships and events at the resort. This role involves working with the golf operations team to support the North & South Amateur Championships, US Kids events, and corporate outings.
What you'll do#
- Manage communications by answering emails and phone calls on the main tournament line.
- Assist with event setup using Golf Genius and prepare necessary documentation.
- Attend North & South planning meetings and support the Volunteer Chairs and Rules Executive Committee.
- Interface with guests, employees, and caddies during events.
- Escalate guest issues or concerns to management immediately.
- Participate in continuing education, cross-training programs, and other assigned duties.
- Maintain awareness of the golf environment, including golf etiquette and safety.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a two or four year college or university, preferably in an accredited PGA Golf Management program.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Knowledge of the Rules of Golf.
- Ability to read and interpret documents and write routine reports.
- Strong verbal communication skills for speaking to groups.
- Ability to apply mathematical concepts like fractions, percentages, and ratios to practical tasks.
- Capacity to solve practical problems.
- Ability to lift, move, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.
- A positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
