About the role#
The Medical Assistant/Gap Student provides direct support to dermatology physicians to help deliver patient care. You will work on-site in Plymouth, Massachusetts, as part of a team managing a high volume of patients. This is a full-time, paid position with a rolling term.
What you'll do#
- Manage a patient volume of up to 40 people daily.
- Document patient histories, including HPI, medications, allergies, and family history.
- Assist with dermatological and cosmetic procedures, such as biopsies, excisions, and laser treatments.
- Administer local anesthesia and remove sutures.
- Perform scribing duties, including inputting templates and chart notes.
- Handle prescription refills and prior authorizations.
- Coordinate with laboratories to log pathology samples.
- Operate specialized equipment, including Narrowband UVB and photodynamic therapy units.
- Maintain liquid nitrogen containers and keep examination rooms stocked and clean.
- Follow all sterile techniques and infection control protocols.
What you'll need#
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Between 0 and 3 years of medical assistant experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong attention to detail for maintaining accurate patient records.
- Ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively.
- Dependable and proactive work habits.
Location & details#
- Location: Plymouth, Massachusetts.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8 hours daily.
- Pay: $20 to $23 per hour.
- Work Modality: On-site.
