About the role#
As an Operations Intern, you will gain hands-on experience within a production facility. This role connects your academic background with daily business activities. You will work alongside experienced professionals, shadow various departments, and contribute to operational initiatives. This position is designed to build practical skills and provide insight into how operations drive business success.
What you'll do#
- Support Team Leaders and Shift Leaders with daily tasks, including training and providing work direction.
- Assist production staff to ensure product quality and integrity.
- Verify that all finished products meet or exceed customer requirements.
- Help maintain a positive work environment for associates.
- Administer company policies and procedures.
- Rotate through various functions in fresh or cook plants, such as receiving, processing, deboning, and shipping.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited four-year institution pursuing a bachelor's degree.
- A major in Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Engineering, Production Management, Business Administration, Animal Science, Poultry Science, Agriculture, or Occupational Safety and Environmental Health.
- A minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to motivate others.
- Capability to work well both independently and in a team setting.
Location & details#
- Location: Accomac, Virginia.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm.
- Status: Full-time and paid position.
- Note: This role requires the ability to work in various environmental conditions, including cold temperatures and high-noise areas, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
