About the role#
The ABA Student Analyst role provides graduate students with hands-on experience in both direct service delivery and the fieldwork hours required for BCBA certification. You will work directly with children diagnosed with autism and other developmental disabilities while receiving supervision from a licensed BCBA. This position is a dual role that combines practical behavior intervention with the application of ABA principles.
What you'll do#
- Provide one-on-one direct behavioral intervention to clients in home, clinic, and community settings.
- Implement behavior intervention plans, training programs, and skill-building exercises for communication, social, and daily living skills.
- Apply behavior reduction strategies like reinforcement and prompting.
- Assist in conducting functional behavior assessments, preference assessments, and other relevant evaluations.
- Participate in the development and modification of treatment goals and individualized service plans.
- Collect, record, and analyze data on client behaviors and session outcomes in real-time.
- Prepare data reports and maintain accurate, detailed client records.
- Collaborate with families and caregivers to support behavior management strategies and skill generalization.
- Attend regular clinical supervision meetings to review progress and develop professional competencies.
- Adhere to ethical guidelines set by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board.
- Participate in one-on-one meetings with your leader.
What you'll need#
- Current certification as a Registered Behavior Technician through the BACB.
- Enrollment as a graduate student in an ABA program for at least 6 months while seeking BCBA certification.
- Ability to work with children from birth to age 21, including families who are at risk.
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a busy environment.
- Effective communication skills for interacting with a wide variety of people.
- Ability to read and interpret documents and author routine reports.
- Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions.
- Consistent and punctual attendance.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as walking, running, jumping, sitting, standing, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
