Systems Integration and Test Engineer Intern

About the role#

This internship focuses on the integration testing and functional verification of energy storage systems, including battery management systems (BMS), inverters, and power electronics. You will support the expansion of testing infrastructure by building out benchtop and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) capabilities required for production validation. This role involves collaborating with firmware, design, and simulation teams throughout the full test lifecycle, from initial procedure development to final data reporting.

What you'll do#

• Support functional testing of BMS, inverters, and other components within energy storage products.
• Design, set up, and operate benchtop and HIL test environments for BMS validation.
• Develop and execute test scripts to advance test automation efforts.
• Assist in the creation of test plans and procedures covering both electrical and mechanical systems.
• Analyze test data, document findings for engineering teams, and support troubleshooting of identified issues.
• Coordinate with design, simulation, and manufacturing partners to inform engineering decisions.

What you'll need#

• Current pursuit of a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field.
• Proficiency in Python or a similar programming language.
• Experience interfacing with microcontrollers and writing scripts for functional testing.
• Basic familiarity with electromechanical test setups and lab equipment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Preferred: Experience with high-voltage battery systems, BMS architecture, or HIL test systems.
