About the role#
As a Supplier Industrialization Engineer Intern, you will work with suppliers, Global Supply Management, and design teams to develop and qualify outsourced parts. You will act as an individual contributor on projects that support our scaling efforts for battery storage products. This role reports to the Group Manager for Supplier Industrialization.
What you'll do#
- Lead and participate in DfX discussions for outsourced parts and assemblies.
- Facilitate communication of product specifications between Peak Energy and our suppliers.
- Manage the implementation of manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with the Peak Part Approval Process.
- Assist suppliers with Root Cause Analysis and the implementation of Corrective Action and Preventive Action plans.
- Drive process improvement projects to enhance quality, cost, and delivery metrics.
- Support the Global Supply Management team in identifying and assessing potential suppliers through performance reviews and qualification assessments.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a graduate or undergraduate program in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or Industrial Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Statistics, or Mathematics.
- Previous experience in product design or manufacturing processes through at least one internship or full-time role in fields such as New Product Introduction, Quality, Metrology, or Strategic Sourcing.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software, with CATIA preferred.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and use geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
- Knowledge of traditional and non-traditional manufacturing processes, including machining, injection molding, sheet metal stamping, 3D printing, and PCBA or wire harness assembly.
- Familiarity with Advanced Product Quality Planning and Production Part Approval Process.
- Experience with problem-solving frameworks like 8D, A3, or Pareto Analysis.

- This is an on-site internship based in Burlingame, California.
- The term for this position is Winter 2027.
- This is a paid, full-time internship.
