Supplier Industrialization Engineer Intern

About the role#

As a Supplier Industrialization Engineer Intern, you will work with suppliers, Global Supply Management, and design engineering teams to develop and qualify outsourced parts. You will operate as an individual contributor on high-impact projects as Peak Energy scales its battery and energy storage system product offerings.

What you'll do#

• Lead and participate in DfX (Design for X) discussions with internal and external stakeholders.
• Facilitate communication and clarify product specifications between suppliers and Peak Energy.
• Manage the development and implementation of manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with part approval requirements.
• Assist suppliers with Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and the implementation of Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
• Identify and drive process improvement projects at supplier sites to improve quality, cost, and delivery metrics.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a graduate or undergraduate program in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or Industrial Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Statistics, or Mathematics.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software, with a preference for CATIA.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Understanding of traditional and non-traditional manufacturing processes, such as machining, injection molding, sheet metal stamping, 3D printing, and assembly.
• Knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP).
• Familiarity with problem-solving frameworks such as 8D, A3, and Pareto Analysis.
