About the role#
PCL Construction is hiring an Estimating Student for the Solar Canada district in Oakville, Ontario. This is a full-time, paid position for the Winter 2027 term. You will work on-site and gain hands-on experience through mentorship and project assignments.
What you'll do#
- Use company estimating manuals, systems, and forms.
- Review quantity survey assignments with the lead or Chief Estimator.
- Perform assigned quantity surveys and transfer data to the lead estimator.
- Provide quantities of major purchase items to the purchasing department for pricing.
- Manage bid document control and assist with bid day tasks.
- Handle general subtrade solicitation duties.
- Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors.
- Complete other duties as assigned by the Chief Estimator.
What you'll need#
- A strong desire to work in a construction environment.
- Proficiency in computer software including word processing, spreadsheets, and drafting programs.
- Prior field construction experience is an asset.

- Location: Oakville, Ontario, Canada.
- Term: Winter 2027 (4-16 months starting January 2027).
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $21.37 - $31.34 per hour, depending on experience.
