About the role#
PCL Construction is hiring an Estimating Student for the Summer 2027 term. This position supports our national data center business unit based in Denver. You will work full time from May 2027 through August 2027.
What you'll do#
- Use PCL estimating manuals, systems, and forms.
- Review quantity survey assignments with the lead or Chief Estimator.
- Perform assigned quantity surveys and transfer quantities to the lead estimator.
- Provide major purchase item quantities to the purchasing department for pricing.
- Handle bid document control and assist with bid day assignments.
- Perform general subtrade solicitation and develop relationships with subcontractors.
- Visit job sites periodically.
- Complete other duties as assigned by the Chief Estimator.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a full-time student in a degree program relevant to the construction industry.
- A strong desire to work in a construction environment.
- Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, and drafting software.
- A valid driver license and reliable transportation to the office.
- You must be 18 years of age or older.
- Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and a substance abuse test.
- Prior field construction experience is a plus.
