About the role#
Passero Associates is hiring an Aviation Civil Engineer Co-op or Intern for our Charlotte office. You will work with our aviation team on planning, design, and infrastructure projects at commercial, general aviation, and military airports. This is a paid, full-time position that offers hands-on experience with technologies like drones, 3D visualization, and virtual reality. You will collaborate with engineers, planners, and architects on projects that improve airport safety and operations.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the planning and design of airport infrastructure, including runways, taxiways, hangars, aprons, and landside facilities.
- Prepare engineering reports, technical specifications, calculations, and construction documents.
- Perform site inspections, data collection, and field investigations at airport facilities.
- Support FAA grant-funded projects and airport improvement programs.
- Use AutoCAD Civil 3D to develop project plans and exhibits.
- Coordinate with project teams to support deliverables through design and construction.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Interest in aviation engineering, transportation infrastructure, and airport design.
- Ability to start immediately or availability through 2027.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D is preferred.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- A valid driver license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to visit active construction sites and airport facilities as needed.
- Previous civil engineering or aviation-related experience is a plus.
