About the role#
Passero Associates is hiring an Aviation Civil Engineer Co-op or Intern for our Charlotte office. You will work with our aviation team on planning, design, and infrastructure projects for commercial, general aviation, and military airports. This is a paid position that involves hands-on collaboration with engineers, planners, surveyors, and architects.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the planning and design of airport infrastructure including runways, taxiways, aprons, hangars, and landside facilities.
- Prepare engineering reports, calculations, specifications, and construction documents.
- Perform field investigations, site inspections, and data collection at airport facilities.
- Support FAA grant-funded projects and airport improvement programs.
- Use AutoCAD Civil 3D and other software to create plans and exhibits.
- Coordinate with project teams to support deliverables during design and construction phases.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Interest in aviation engineering, airport design, and transportation infrastructure.
- Availability to start immediately or through 2027.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for site visits.
- Ability to visit active airport and construction sites.
- Previous civil engineering or aviation experience is a plus.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D is preferred.
