Undergrounding Program Customer Experience and Engagement Intern

About the role#

The Undergrounding Program Customer Experience and Engagement Intern will support the team in understanding and improving the end-to-end experience for customers. This role involves research, communication, and program support to help identify actionable insights and drive improvements in customer satisfaction. You will gain practical experience in customer engagement strategies and project management within a professional utility environment.

What you'll do#

• Support in-person community engagement events by ordering materials, managing logistics, and assisting with setup and breakdown.
• Engage directly with customers to provide information, gather feedback, and connect them with appropriate resources.
• Provide field support by accompanying team members to customer sites, community locations, or field offices to observe and document activities.
• Assist with administrative tasks, including scheduling meetings, preparing notes, organizing files, and updating tracking tools.
• Maintain project logs, enter data into shared systems, and compile customer feedback into summaries or reports.
• Support the logistics of workshops, interviews, and internal meetings while ensuring sensitive information is handled securely.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Political Science, or a related humanities field at an accredited university.
• Must be continuing education towards your degree during or after the internship.
• A valid California driver’s license.

Location & details#

• Term: Summer 2026.
• Work Modality: Hybrid, with 1–3 days per week of in-person collaboration in Oakland or other locations within the service territory.
• This is a paid internship. Please note that visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
