Transmission Line Asset Strategy and Standards Intern

About the role#

The Transmission Line Asset Strategy and Standards Intern will support the team responsible for maintaining asset health, engineering designs, and technical documentation for the transmission line system. This role involves analyzing equipment components and determining engineering standards for the construction, repair, and inspection of infrastructure. You will work alongside experienced engineers to gain insight into the broader Electric Operations organization.

What you'll do#

• Review engineering drawings for accuracy on electronic maps.
• Validate engineering calculations.
• Assist standards engineers with the development of specific transmission line designs, processes, and procedures.
• Update and enhance existing engineering drawings.
• Map records to business processes for transmission line encroachments.
• Support data entry tasks for risk modeling.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Business, Computer Science, or a related field at an accredited university.
• Must be continuing education toward a degree during or after the internship.
• A cumulative and major GPA of 3.0 or greater.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• EIT or FE certification is preferred.
