Market & Federal Compliance, Intern

About the role#

The Market & Federal Compliance intern will join the Compliance Excellence department to support oversight and monitoring of regulatory requirements, including those set by CAISO, FERC, and NERC. This role involves assisting with continuous improvement efforts, analyzing regulatory tariffs, and contributing to licensing documentation.

What you'll do#

• Assist with planning, tracking, and maintaining team objectives and milestones.
• Organize and maintain compliance documentation and SharePoint file structures.
• Coordinate cross-team communications by gathering input and status updates from internal stakeholders.
• Prepare summaries, trackers, and reports to support leadership decision-making.
• Learn and apply project management principles, including scope definition, timeline tracking, and risk identification.
• Support CAISO Asset Maintenance Review (AMR) inquiries and FERC T-Line Licensing activities.
• Attend internal working group meetings to track deliverables and support ad hoc compliance initiatives.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Business Administration, Public Policy, Public Administration, Communications, Project Management, or a related field.
• Proficiency with MS Office 365 applications, with experience in Power BI, Power Apps, and Power Automate preferred.
• Knowledge of regulatory policy and compliance concepts.
• Ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely in summary form.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to manage multiple workstreams.
